Ministry and Writing Experience:
I have served as a Children’s Ministry Director and Sunday School teacher for multiple years in churches across the United States. Our family has moved often, which has given me the opportunity to serve in many different congregations and communities.
I have written Christian content for six years, both on this blog and for other publications, including those listed in the “Featured In” section below. My seminary studies shape how I research and write, which I also explain below.
My Story
Growing in my personal relationship with Jesus is the most important thing to me.
A few years ago, I desired desperately to know the purposes he had for my life. This led Jesus to show me that I first needed to heal from my past wounds and forgive others.
Giving him these hard experiences, and processing them, allowed me to surrender myself more to him.
On this journey, he opened my heart to see how I can live more intentionally for him.
This was by following his commands in Matthew 22:37-39: to love him, love people, and learn to love myself as he loves me. He desires this of us all as believers.
I would love to help you do the same as I continue to strive toward this goal myself.

How I Study and Write
I quote Scripture from the English Standard Version (ESV) and the New International Version (NIV) because both are clear and faithful to the text. I began writing with the NIV. As I have studied at Regent University, I have come to see the ESV as the more reliable translation overall, so I now use it more often. Some of my older articles still quote the NIV.
I begin each article by spending a significant amount of time within the Word and in prayer. I then research using academic resources, searching for commentaries and other scholarly works so that what I write is grounded in sound biblical scholarship and not in opinion. My aim and deep desire is to interpret the Word accurately and correctly to its original meaning. I never want to misinterpret God’s word or alter it in any way.
I list the sources I consulted at the bottom of my articles so you can read them for yourself. I learned this research process while pursuing my Master of Divinity. God led me to undertake this higher education in order to give me the biblical grounding and academic underpinning necessary to write with credibility.
