Bible Verses to Overcome Fear When You Feel Crippled by It

Are you struggling with fear? Fear can make you feel trapped, paralyzed, unable to move forward; it can steal your peace and consume your mind. Maybe you are in a place now where you just don’t know what to do to break free of this fear anymore; maybe you feel hopeless.

God’s word holds the power to allow you to break free from this fear. There are many Bible verses to overcome fear. These verses will remind you of who you are in Christ and enable you to find the freedom you seek.

Fear doesn’t have to have power over you any longer when you know the truth in the Bible. You will win this battle with God and don’t have to fight it alone—he is with you.

How to Overcome Fear Biblically

God mentions in the Bible many times that you don’t have to be afraid. But what do you do when the fear still finds you? You can overcome your fear and not let it hold you back in life any longer. This process starts with identifying your fears.

You need to ask yourself “What am I afraid of?” Once you know what your fears are, you can give them to God so they have no power over you any more. He wants to take your fears away. If you have faith in him he will do this for you.

The Lord is faithful and will take away your fears as you give them to him. He is all powerful.

“I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.” (Psalm 34:4-5, NIV)

Sometimes, the fears don’t go away immediately, and you can hold onto them… but you can keep giving them to the Lord. The bad feelings and thoughts will lessen.

Overcome fear with faith. Know God will do it; whatever you are fearing, God will take care of it. He is with you. You can trust him 100 percent. Give him all the things that you are afraid of.
